How the meeting went!

So, I know you all are dying to hear how the meeting went (if I already didn't tell you today :). Well...

So the positive things are: the lady (I assume owner?) was very helpful. She really liked my product and was not pushy, but definitely seemed like she wanted my business. She told me exactly what she needed from me, and what the process would be from here out. She seemed very compassionate towards the fact that I was just starting out, and that I was nervous about taking the next steps, but also very encouraging which I must admit gave me a little boost in my confidence.

Even though I liked the place and the lady I met with. I felt when I left, that things went just so/so, because I really feel like I don't know what I am doing! I didn't know if this is the sort of thing like buying a car, where I needed to shop it around or what? They want to get your product and make it first before giving you a unit price, so I didn't even know how to shop it around?

Then I talked to "Mr. L." (I don't know if he would want me using his name, so I am not going to). "Mr. L." is an acquaintance of my dad's, and it turns out he has worked in the fabric industry for years. His specialty would be more on the lines of printing my own fabrics (that would be CRAZY BTW), but he obviously had a lot of insight into the manufacturing side. He explained it even better and took away any doubts I may have about trying to find someone else (which was really good to hear). He seemed to think that her prices were fair, so far, and that having them relatively close by was what was the most important, since I am just getting my feet wet, and would want to check in often. He had some great points that I didn't even think of, for example, if I want the item to be "washable," I have to specifically ask for the thread that won't shrink when you wash it? I would have never thought of that?

So, I am feeling really good now. It is 8:00, both kids are asleep (thanks to an awesome Halloween party with good friends), I am getting off this computer right after this, and I am going to work. I have my next meeting Tuesday, and that is where I will hand over all the materials and they will make the prototypes. I have a lot of work to do before that date.
